The Ministry to the Sick is a group of special parishioners who are dedicated to visit and take Holy Communion to the sick and elderly of the parish. The spiritual sustenance provided by this ministry is invaluable to those in our parish who are no longer able to actively participate. Ministers to the sick also visit patients at Kaiser Hospital.

 

Time Involvement

Ministers are asked to donate 1 1/2 to 3 hours of their time a week.

 

One must be able to be attentive to patients and shut-ins. This ministry requires the ability to be a good listener and the importance to be nonjudgmental. The spirit of confidentiality must be a part of this ministry.

 

Required Training

Approximately 12 hours of video and classroom instruction/training. Members of this ministry must be Eucharistic Ministers.
