Purpose
The liturgical team is organized to create an environment where all people feel welcome in our community and can participate in our liturgical celebrations The team works to develop a greater appreciation for and involvement in our community's liturgy.
Time Involvement

Skills
Two years experience in liturgical ministry. Willingness to become knowledgeable about current church documents on liturgy.

Purpose
Work in teams to do light cleaning of the church (dusting, cleaning counters, removing wax from candle holders, etc). Does not involve heavy lifting.
Time Involvement
Approximately once every six weeks.

Willingness to be dependable.

Purpose
Designs and constructs banners, processional hangings and other artwork in church following guidelines set up by the Bishops' document "Environment and Art in Catholic Worship". Works closely with the Liturgical Flower Committee.
Time Involvement
Meets periodically as needed to complete project.
Skills
Good eye for beauty, clarity and line. Architectural and woodworking skills a plus.
Required Training
In-service is given every year. Work with an experienced team member until competency is gained.

Purpose
Children’s Liturgy of the Word is an opportunity for school-aged children to celebrate God's word. Scripture readings are adapted for children. Sharing, discussion, activity and prayer are woven into the celebrations each week. Children are dismissed from and return to Mass during the 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. liturgies weekly.
Time Involvement
The volunteer team works in a rotational basis about once each month. Additional team members are always welcome and encouraged.
Skills
Willingness to work with children. Knowledge of the scriptures.

Training provided by experienced Catechetical Ministry volunteers.

Purpose
Help distribute Holy Communion during the weekend liturgies and special seasons. May also coordinate with Pastoral Care to take communion to the sick.
4 - 6 hours per month.
Skills
Ability to be present to people and knowledge of current eucharistic theology.

Purpose
Welcome people and create hospitable environment prior to liturgy.
Time Involvement
2 - 6 hours per month.
Skills
Greeters require good "people skills". Knowledge of parish programs to be able to answer people's questions.

Purpose
Proclaims scripture readings during weekend liturgies and special seasons. Scheduled approximately every five (5) weeks.
Time Involvement
Time as needed to thoroughly prepare the scripture reading before liturgy.
Skills
Good speaking voice and easy presence in front of a large group of people and love of scripture.
Required Training
Initial training sessions and periodic in-services.

Purpose
Work in teams to provide sanctuary flowers for weekend liturgies and special seasons.
Time Involvement
Scheduled approximately every six (6) weeks and group meetings every three (3) months.
Skills
Good eye for beauty, clarity and line. Flower arranging experience is helpful but not necessary.

Desire for spiritual growth.

Purpose
Guide assembly to pray through song at weekend liturgies and special seasons. Singers, instrumentalists, and keyboard players are needed. Different types of music groups are available. Small ensembles and full choir are available.
Time Involvement
Music rehearsals are usually once a week.
Skills
Depending on role. music skills are necessary. More skill is needed if you sing with a smaller group. Keyboardists and instrumentalists must be able to read music and play proficiently.

Attendance in periodic in-services.

Purpose
Ushers help prepare for worship by setting out bulletins, envelops and needed equipment. They take up money collections, help seat people during liturgies, and assist people with special needs (e.g. wheelchairs, small children). Help in any emergency situations that should arise during Mass.
Time Involvement
5 - 6 hours per month.
Skills
Ability to work well with people and give clear directions.
